Marble Gardens (Sestina)
Let's write poetry on our palms in blue ink,
like cheat notes for a midterm on existence.
Let's lie in marble gardens, study the curves
that contour lifetimes. Paint scars and realities
one stroke at a time, naked on stretched canvas,
watercolors bleeding on the very edge of hunger.
We'll carry our poems and collaborate our hunger.
Tattoo our desires with each other's ink
on our bodies made to be each other's canvas.
Paint me into your vision of existence.
Compose me from your synonyms for reality.
Sketch in thick charcoal my every curve.
I will take you in and fit your words to my curves,
create ballads to the way your insatiable hunger
awaits what falls from my fountain pen of realities.
Together we will create museums of blue ink
and stone to prove the facts of our existence,
like a finger painting of pink petals on old canvas.
Pink petals covering the scars of a used canvas,
raining over intertwined fingers, filling the curves
on a path carved by the unlikely existence
of two people in a world of eight billion hungry
mouths desiring to consume marble and ink
as cheat notes guiding them to gatekept realities
.
Through watercolor soliloquies, we release realities
into a world tired of staring at a blank, white canvas,
trying to make sense of the ever changing ink
blot tests of continuous existential crisis, curve
balls and red tape allowing for rampant hunger.
Let our words of desire create a new existence.
Here in this garden, we create an artist's existence
through touch and fingertips exploring realities.
We quench our own thirst and feed a deep hunger
for tomorrows roughly sketched on canvas,
and outlined on the page in cursive curves -
a love story of two, inspiring the world through ink.
Let's write realities on our palms in blue ink,
explore a hunger for scars in our curves -
render another existence on stretched canvas.
